You are not alone
Are any of these feelings familiar?
Many people come to counselling feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or as though something isn’t quite right — but not quite knowing why. You don’t need to have the words. I can help you find them.
“I feel anxious all the time and I’m struggling to feel in control of my own life.”
“I’m going through relationship pain and I don’t know how to move forward.”
“I’m grieving a loss and the sadness feels impossible to carry alone.”
“I feel shame or anger that I can’t explain — and it’s affecting everything.”
“My self-esteem is low and I’m questioning who I am or what I’m worth.”
“I’ve been through something difficult and it’s still affecting me in ways I can’t shake.”
“Whatever you’re carrying, you don’t have to carry it alone.”

Anxiety and stress
Understanding what drives your anxiety and building tools to help you feel calmer and more grounded in daily life.
Relationships and communication
Exploring patterns in your relationships, understanding your needs, and finding healthier ways to connect.
Grief and bereavement
Making space to process loss — whether of a person, a relationship, or a version of life you hoped to have.
Depression and low mood
Working gently through feelings of flatness, sadness, or disconnection to help you rediscover meaning.
Self-esteem and identity
Exploring who you are beneath the stories you've been told, and building a more compassionate relationship with yourself.
Trauma and difficult experiences
A safe, careful space to explore what happened and understand how it continues to shape your present.
About Donna
A counsellor who listens without judgement
I’m Donna Karpel, a BACP-registered counsellor with over ten years of experience supporting individuals through some of life’s most difficult chapters. I work from a person-centred foundation — which means that you are always the expert on your own experience.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and non-directive. I won’t tell you what to think or feel. Instead, I’ll create the conditions for you to understand yourself more deeply, at your own pace, in your own way.
I see clients in person at my consulting rooms in Bushey and Borehamwood, as well as online via video call, making it easy to access support wherever you are in Hertfordshire and beyond.
