I hold a small number of reduced-fee places for people who are unable to afford the full fee — including students, those on low incomes, and people experiencing financial hardship. Practical details
What you need to know
Session length
All sessions are 50 minutes long. Please arrive on time so we can make the most of our time together.
Cancellation policy
I ask for at least 48 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Cancellations with less than 48 hours’ notice will be charged at the full session rate, except in genuine emergencies.
Payment
Sessions are paid in advance by bank transfer. Payment details will be provided once we’ve confirmed your appointment.
How many sessions will I need?
This varies for everyone. Some people find 6–12 sessions helpful; others work with me for longer. We’ll review regularly and there’s never any pressure to commit to a fixed number.
FAQ
Common questions
Do you offer online therapy?
Yes. I offer sessions via a secure, confidential video platform. Online therapy is just as effective as in-person work for many people, and can be easier to fit around a busy schedule.
What happens in the first session?
The first session is a chance to talk about what’s brought you to counselling, ask any questions you have, and get a feel for how we work together. There’s no pressure to share more than you’re comfortable with.
Is everything I say confidential?
Yes — everything shared in sessions is completely confidential. The only exceptions are very narrow legal situations (where I believe there’s a serious risk to life), which I’ll always explain fully at the start of our work.
How do I know if counselling is right for me?
If something is weighing on you — even if you can’t quite put it into words — counselling is worth exploring. The free 15-minute call is a good first step with no commitment required.
Do I need a GP referral?
No. You can contact me directly to arrange private counselling. No referral or waiting list is required.
Ready to work together?
Your free 15-minute call is a relaxed, no-pressure conversation to see if we’re a good fit. There’s no commitment required.
