Relationships shape almost every part of our lives. Whether you are struggling with conflict, communication, trust, or a major life change within a relationship, these difficulties can feel exhausting and isolating. As a BACP-registered integrative counsellor based in Watford, I offer a confidential, non-judgemental space where you can begin to untangle what is happening and work out what you want to do next.

Relationship issues take many forms. Some clients come to me after a breakdown in trust, such as infidelity or repeated conflict. Others feel disconnected from a partner, family member, or friend without knowing exactly why. Some are navigating separation or divorce and need support making sense of what has happened. All of these experiences are valid, and all of them can benefit from talking them through with an experienced counsellor.

Patterns that keep repeating

I work integratively, drawing on humanistic, psychodynamic, and cognitive behavioural approaches. This means I tailor how I work to suit you, rather than applying a rigid method to every client. We explore not just what is happening in your relationships now, but also the patterns and experiences that may have shaped how you relate to others. Many people find that this kind of self-understanding changes not just one relationship, but the way they connect with people more broadly.

“You do not need to be part of a couple to benefit from relationship counselling. Many of my clients come individually, working through difficulties in their marriage, a family relationship, or a friendship.”

You do not need to be part of a couple to benefit from relationship counselling. Many of my clients come individually, working through difficulties in their marriage, a family relationship, or a friendship. I work with adults and young people aged 16 and above, and sessions are 50 minutes.

Frequently asked questions

Can I have relationship counselling as an individual rather than a couple?

Yes. I see many clients individually who are working through relationship difficulties. You do not need your partner, family member, or friend to attend sessions for counselling to be helpful.

How many sessions will I need for relationship issues?

There is no fixed number. Some clients feel ready to finish after eight to twelve sessions. Others benefit from longer-term work. We will discuss this at your initial consultation and review regularly as we go.

Is relationship counselling confidential?

Yes. Everything you share with me is strictly confidential. I am bound by the BACP Ethical Framework, which sets clear standards for how client information is handled. There are limited circumstances where confidentiality may need to be broken, such as a risk to life, and I will explain these clearly at the start.
